Builds are not yet notarized by Apple. Run xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Mako.app once after installing, or allow the app under System Settings → Privacy & Security.
No — the browser version at app.mako.ai is the same product. The desktop app matters when your databases live on localhost: its built-in Mako Agent connects to them directly, so local credentials stay on your machine. In the browser you can install the standalone Mako Agent for the same trick.
Nothing to install — the whole platform runs at app.mako.ai, and your workspace is the same in both.
