Why we built it
Every team has more questions than analysts. AI agents can write SQL and build dashboards now, but they need three things nobody wants to hand them: credentials, a safe place to run, and a way to ship. Mako provides exactly those — connections whose secrets never leave our backend, read-only-by-default access for agents, a sandbox to build in, and one-click publishing — and stays out of the way otherwise. You bring the agent you already pay for; Mako is the data and deployment control plane.
Open source
The code is at https://github.com/mako-ai/mako under the MIT licence. The SDK and CLI are on npm (@makoai/app-sdk, @makoai/cli) and the Python SDK on PyPI (mako-ai). The hosted service at https://app.mako.ai is how we fund the work.
Who
Mako is a product of RealAdvisor, the Swiss real-estate data company, where the first version replaced a zoo of internal dashboards. It is built by a small team near Geneva.
